7 Ways to Get What You Want


get what you wantWhat is the secret in attracting exactly what you want? I have been actively studying and working on this for nineteen years. What I’ve found is that sometimes I get just what I want and other times I don’t come close. For example, when I first started using attraction techniques I envisioned a beautiful lake (that looked like one from my childhood) and thought how I’d like to live close to one just like it. Two years later I had a house on a lake that looked exactly like the lake I visualized.


So why was it easy to get some of the things and others didn’t show up? Over the years I’ve given myself lots of reasons but now I think I know the answer. To get what you want you have to be magnetic; that is, line up energetically with what it is you want. How do you align energetically? Here are some ways:


  1. You have to be clear about what you want. The universe can’t give you what you want if the message is foggy. It’s like going into a store and telling the sales person, “ I want to buy clothes”. Who knows what you will get, or if you will get anything. However, if you said, “I want the blue dress in the window in size 10”, you will have a much better chance of getting exactly what you want. Your message is clear when you know what you want looks like, you can describe it and you know what it feels like to have it. If you’re unsure about what you want and keep making changes, the universe will be confused and nothing will show up.


  1. You must also believe it’s possible. If you try to figure out how it will come into your possession or if you think you’ve asked for too much (you must believe you deserve it) then you’ve sent an unclear message. As in the example of the lake, if I had tried to figure out it would happen I would not have been able to do it and would have created confused energy.


  1. Actively visualize what you want and get the feeling of what it will be like once you’re there, when you have it in your possession or you’ve reached your goal. Having the feeling is the most important part.


  1. Create a vision board of things you want. You subconscious doesn’t know the difference between was is real or unreal so it will work on bringing those things to you.


  1. Everything you say is an affirmation. Pay close attention to your words (they have power). Make a list of some of your negative feelings and change them into positive affirmations. For example, if you look in the mirror and have the thought or say, “I’m fat”, that is an affirmation. Affirmations are prayers to the universe. Always look for something positive to affirm.


  1. Take the stress off: When you really believe and contemplate what you want without putting stress on yourself to do, do, do, it happens more easily.


  1. Take action! When you know what you want – take action. Take action in the direction of what you want (without stressing) or simply take action. The best action is one that serves others. Whatever your job is, give your best, give your best to your children and to all those around you.


This can be so easy and yet be so hard. It’s mostly because we have to unlearn our old ways of doing things and get rid of our limiting beliefs.


Something I like to do that I find fun is, when I want something I say, “ Wouldn’t it be nice if…” and I forget about it. When I was traveling this summer with my husband and we were driving for 10 hours a day, one afternoon I said, “Wouldn’t it be nice if tonight we found a hotel with an outdoor pool?” You must consider that we didn’t have time to search for a place and we didn’t know where we would be stopping until we decided it was time. We got a hotel with a pool; I just wish I had said that there would have been enough time to use it. It closed about 10minutes after we arrived. It’s all about being clear. I’m still learning. Ahhhhh
